Crowns and bridges are the cornerstones of restorative dentistry, designed to rebuild damaged teeth and replace missing ones. A Crown (or cap) covers a damaged tooth entirely to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. A Bridge is used to bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth, anchored by crowns on the healthy teeth on either side.
At Matoshree Multispeciality Dental Clinic, we believe that dental restorations should look and feel exactly like your natural teeth. We combine artistry with engineering to create durable, custom-fitted restorations that blend seamlessly with your smile, allowing you to eat, speak, and laugh with confidence.
Restoring your smile is typically a two-visit process designed for precision:
Preparation:
For Crowns: The damaged tooth is reshaped to make room for the cap.
For Bridges: The teeth adjacent to the gap are prepared to serve as anchors.
Impressions: We take highly accurate molds or digital scans of your teeth. These are sent to our specialized lab where technicians craft your restoration using high-quality materials.
Temporary Protection: A temporary crown or bridge is placed to protect your teeth while your permanent one is being made.
Bonding: On your second visit, the final restoration is checked for perfect fit and color match. It is then permanently cemented into place, restoring full function immediately.
You may need a Crown if:
You have undergone a Root Canal Treatment (the tooth becomes brittle and needs protection).
You have a large cavity that a regular filling cannot cover.
You have a cracked, chipped, or severely worn-down tooth.
You want to cover a discolored or misshapen tooth for cosmetic reasons.
You may need a Bridge if:
You have one or more missing teeth.
You want to prevent remaining teeth from shifting into the empty space.
You are looking for a fixed alternative to removable dentures.
We utilize CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design) technology and Digital Impressions to ensure your crown or bridge fits with micron-level precision. This eliminates the discomfort of traditional gooey impression materials. We offer Metal-Free Zirconia and E-max Crowns, which provide superior strength and translucency, mimicking the light-reflecting properties of natural enamel better than older metal-ceramic crowns.
Our preparation process is minimally invasive, preserving as much of your natural tooth structure as possible while ensuring a secure fit.
With proper care, crowns and bridges can last for 10–15 years or longer.
Hygiene: Brush twice daily and floss. For bridges, we will teach you how to use a floss threader or water flosser to clean under the artificial tooth.
Diet: Avoid chewing on ice, hard candy, or opening packages with your teeth to prevent chipping the ceramic.
Check-ups: Regular visits allow us to check the margins of the crown to ensure they remain sealed and healthy.
Partnerships with top-tier dental labs for high-quality craftsmanship.
Wide range of materials available (PFM, Zirconia, All-Ceramic) to suit every budget and aesthetic need.
Precise color matching (shade selection) so your new tooth is indistinguishable from your natural ones.
Warranty options available on premium crowns.
